Geba Cables, an Austria-based manufacturer of electrical cables and components, has launched a new manufacturing unit in Bengaluru with a built-up area of 40,000 square feet. The facility is the company’s second production site and is expected to create over 100 new jobs.
“This new facility is symbol of our growth, ambition & our belief in the future. As we cut the ribbon today, we are not just opening a plant – we are opening doors to new opportunities, to 100+ new job creation, and to technological excellence,” stated Girish Rao, Managing Director, Geba Cables Asia, at the opening ceremony.
The event was attended by representatives from various companies, including Patrick Pilz of Lafayette Mittelstand Capital, Rajesh Nath of VDMA India, Dharmendra G C of Schneider Electric, and Manimaran D of OTIS Elevator.
Geba Cables India was founded and incorporated in June 2010 in Bengaluru, Karnataka. During this period, the company began supplying cables to major elevator OEMs like Kone, Johnson Lifts, and OTIS, and also started the production of PV (photovoltaic) ribbons.
Geba Cables continues to operate in India as a subsidiary of Luxembourg-based company Lafayette Mittelstand Capital. It is a leading producer of cables and cable harnesses for elevators, escalators, and PV ribbons.
