Schneider Electric is setting up a 500,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, in partnership with Horizon Industrial Parks, a warehousing platform backed by Blackstone Real Estate. The new plant will support the company’s operations in the manufacturing, sales, and distribution of battery management products, including Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, Power Distribution Units (PDU), cooling products, and other electronic components.

The facility will be constructed in two phases at Horizon Industrial Park, located along the Bangalore–Chennai National Highway. The first phase includes a dust-free manufacturing area, modern office space, and infrastructure enhancements such as increased power capacity, fire safety systems, and workspace upgrades. According to the company, the plant is expected to support around 1,500 direct and indirect jobs. The second phase, anticipated to be completed in seven months, will deliver a custom-built unit aligned with Schneider Electric’s operational specifications.

The facility will include several sustainability-oriented features such as roof insulation using glass wool, rooftop solar panels, a 12-meter clear-height pre-engineered building (PEB) design with skylights, and advanced ventilation systems. Smart systems like HVAC controls, electric vehicle charging stations, and automated lighting will be part of the integrated building management system. Additional solar installations are planned for the second phase.

“We are committed to providing innovative, tailored, and high-quality warehousing solutions for global and local corporations looking to expand their presence in India,” said Urvish Rambhia, Principal at Blackstone Real Estate.

Schneider Electric’s India operations span energy management, industrial automation, and smart infrastructure solutions, contributing to its broader digital transformation efforts.
