Dellner India is partnering with Alstom to supply automatic couplers and semi-permanent couplers for new trains being developed for Chennai Metro Rail Limited’s (CMRL) Phase 2 expansion. The components will be used in trains that form part of the metro’s extended network.

Alstom was awarded a contract in November 2022 valued at approximately EUR 98 million to design, manufacture, supply, test, and commission 78 metro coaches for CMRL Phase 2. The trains are intended to serve sections of the expanded metro system, which aims to improve urban connectivity in Chennai.
