Advanced Microdevices Pvt. Ltd. (mdi) has commissioned a gamma irradiation facility with a capacity of 3000 kiloCurie (kCi) earlier this year. The facility is intended to support the sterilization of the company’s sterilizing-grade filters and single-use systems.
According to the company, the facility has been validated by the Board of Radiation & Isotope Technology (BRIT) and approved by the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) of India. It also complies with ISO 11137 standards, including dose substantiation and dose mapping processes.
The company claims that the facility gives full control over the gamma sterilization process for sterilizing grade filters and single-use systems, leading to enhanced product quality and faster delivery times for customers.
