L&T Electronic Products & Systems (L&T EPS), a unit under L&T Precision Engineering and Systems, has appointed Virupakshappa Hovale as Head of Industrial Robotics and Automation. He will be responsible for overseeing the company’s robotics portfolio, including construction robotics and Industry 5.0-related solutions.
Hovale has more than three decades of experience in robotics, automation, motion control, Internet of Things, and energy efficiency across India, South Asia, and the Asia-Pacific region. He has previously held leadership roles at Universal Robots, Bosch Rexroth India, Rockwell Automation, and Siemens.
L&T Electronic Products & Systems (L&T EPS) is part of Larsen & Toubro’s advanced manufacturing, technology, and engineering divisions. The business segment provides electronic solutions for defence, aerospace, and industrial applications.
In the defence sector, L&T EPS delivers systems for naval platforms, land systems, and aerospace. Its portfolio includes communication systems, C4I (Command, Control, Communication, Computers, and Intelligence) systems, simulators, avionics, and specialised sensors.
The division operates its Strategic Electronics Centre in Bengaluru, which manufactures defence electronics, C4I systems, avionics, and customised electronics for clients in India and abroad. Its product range covers electronic warfare systems, radars, military communication equipment, simulators, and electronics for both defence and civilian use.
L&T EPS also draws support from L&T Technology Services (LTTS), which provides research and development in embedded systems, Internet of Things, power electronics, industrial automation, and smart metering. LTTS serves clients across sectors such as manufacturing, energy, automotive, and medical devices.
Additionally, through its digital marketplace L&T-SuFin, L&T distributes industrial electronic and electrical products, including control panels, boards, switches, distribution boxes, and automation systems.
Key areas of activity for L&T EPS include defence and aerospace electronics, industrial automation, and R&D services, with operations based in Bengaluru and other locations across India.
