Rafael Advanced Defence Systems and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during Aero India 2025 to collaborate on offering the TROPHY Active Protection System (APS) for integration into Indian defence platforms.

TROPHY APS is a battlefield technology designed to protect armoured vehicles and other platforms from threats, including guided munitions and unmanned aerial systems. The collaboration aims to facilitate the system’s integration with Indian military assets through local manufacturing and sustainment capabilities.

According to Rafael Advanced Defence Systems CEO Yoav Tourgeman, the partnership will contribute to enhancing the operational capabilities of the Indian Armed Forces and strengthening the country’s defence manufacturing sector.

L&T Senior Vice President & Head of Precision Engineering & Systems Arun Ramchandani stated that the latest version of TROPHY APS would be customised for Indian combat platforms and produced domestically. The system is intended to improve the survivability of both current and future armoured platforms used by the Indian military.

The agreement aligns with the Indian government’s initiatives to encourage technology partnerships and indigenisation in defence manufacturing.
