Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has inaugurated a radar maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility in Hyderabad, India, under its subsidiary HELA Systems Private Limited. The facility will focus on servicing radar systems for the Indian Armed Forces, including maintenance of power systems, cooling systems, IT integration, radar testing, and calibration. This initiative aligns with India’s focus on bolstering domestic defence capabilities under its “Make in India” program.

The HELA facility employs 45 trained professionals and is supported by 80 field engineers, with plans to engage over 100 local talents in radio frequency and microelectronics. It is equipped to service advanced radar systems across land, air, and sea applications.

IAI acquired HELA Systems in 2023 and has been emphasizing adaptation to India’s defence manufacturing requirements. Earlier this year, IAI also established Aerospace Services India (ASI), a subsidiary based in New Delhi, employing 50 individuals, 97% of whom are Indian citizens. ASI is the authorized technical representative for the Medium Range Surface to Air Missile (MRSAM) system, developed jointly by IAI and India’s Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO).

The new Hyderabad facility strengthens the partnership between India Israel while supporting efforts to modernize India’s defence capabilities through local innovation and expertise.
