Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced a collaboration with MassRobotics, an independent robotics hub based in Boston, to support innovation in the robotics sector. As part of the initiative, TCS will establish an on-site presence at MassRobotics’ facility, working alongside startups, researchers, and industry leaders to explore robotics applications in industries such as retail, transportation, hospitality, and consumer products.

The collaboration will focus on research and development, industry-specific robotics solutions, and support for early-stage robotics startups. TCS will contribute technical expertise, mentorship, and industry insights while gaining exposure to emerging trends, including physical AI and robotics for specialized sectors.

MassRobotics Executive Director Tom Ryden stated that the partnership aims to accelerate the development of robotics solutions. Krishnan Ramanujam, President of TCS’ Consumer Business Group, emphasized the growing role of robotics in various industries and the potential for innovation through the initiative.

The International Federation of Robotics projects over 3 million industrial robots will be installed worldwide in 2025, reflecting increasing demand for automation. TCS has been expanding its robotics capabilities, leveraging AI and automation to enhance efficiency in various business sectors.

This collaboration is part of TCS’ broader efforts in North America, where it operates multiple technology and innovation centers, including those at Cornell Tech in New York City and Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
