Siemens AG has completed the demerger and separate listing of its energy business in India as Siemens Energy India Limited. The shares of Siemens Energy India Limited are now publicly traded on BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited. The restructuring establishes Siemens Limited India and Siemens Energy India Limited as two distinct entities focused on their respective business areas.

The separation follows a November 2023 agreement between Siemens AG and Siemens Energy AG to accelerate the unbundling of the Indian subsidiary’s business operations. Siemens Energy AG is expected to acquire a controlling stake in Siemens Energy India Limited, subject to regulatory approvals.

Siemens AG currently holds a 69 percent stake in Siemens Energy India Limited, while Siemens Energy AG holds 6 percent. The remaining shares are held by public investors, in line with the ownership structure of Siemens Limited India.

“The listing of Siemens Energy India Limited simplifies and strengthens our corporate structure in India. This move demonstrates our long-term commitment to this fast-growing and strategically important market and reflects our strategic focus on empowering each business to succeed independently. Ultimately, it will unlock value for all shareholders and enable both Siemens and Siemens Energy to grow faster,” said Roland Busch, President and CEO of Siemens AG.

“As India moves toward becoming a $7 trillion economy, a strong and resilient energy system will be essential. We have the technology, expertise, engineering talent, and the passion to partner in this transformation, with trust and transparency at the core of everything we do,” stated Harish Shekar, Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of Siemens Energy India Limited.

Siemens Limited India will continue its focus on Industry, Infrastructure, and Mobility, while Siemens Energy India Limited will concentrate on energy technologies.
