Mukand Sumi Special Steel Ltd. (MSSSL) has placed an order with Danieli India Limited for a new blooming mill, which will be installed at its Hospet plant in Karnataka. The mill is designed to roll up to 200 mm diameter rounds from blooms measuring up to 380 mm by 420 mm.

The investment is expected to enhance MSSSL’s production capacity and allow the company to optimise its product mix across sectors such as automotive, engineering, bearings, oil and gas, energy, and infrastructure. According to the company, the new mill aims to improve yield, surface quality, and overall productivity.

The Letter of Intent was formally handed over by Niraj Bajaj, Chairman and Managing Director of MSSSL, to Giacomo Mareschi Danieli, Chief Executive Officer of Danieli Group, during a strategic meeting.

“This is more than just a capacity expansion—it’s a statement of our intent to lead the future of special steel manufacturing in India. Partnering with Danieli ensures we are equipped to meet rising demand with precision, reliability, and sustainability,” said Vipul Mashruwala, President, MSSSL.
