The 30-acre facility will house six plants producing motors, generators, drives, and system solutions for sectors including renewable energy, data centers, industrial applications, infrastructure, and electric vehicles.
According to the company’s initial announcement, the facility will incorporate automation and lean manufacturing processes. Nidec has also outlined plans to make the campus carbon-neutral by 2028 through the implementation of various technologies.
In addition to the Karnataka project, Nidec is also setting up a facility in Telangana to manufacture micro precision motors used in iPhones.
The new Karnataka facility will be Nidec Motion & Energy’s fourth in India, expanding its manufacturing capacity in response to market demand.
