Saint-Gobain ADFORS has opened a new manufacturing facility near Ahmedabad, focused on the production of polypropylene geogrids and drainage geocomposites. The plant is intended to meet growing demand in India and across the Asia-Pacific region for geosynthetic products used in infrastructure development.
Polypropylene geogrids are biaxial structures manufactured using controlled punching and drawing processes. They are used to reinforce soil and pavement structures in civil engineering applications. The drainage geocomposites combine high-density polyethylene (HDPE) geonet drainage cores with polypropylene nonwoven fabric to manage subsurface drainage in infrastructure projects.
Saint-Gobain ADFORS produces a range of geosynthetic materials in India, including geogrids designed to enhance durability and reduce cracking in roads and runways.
Saint-Gobain ADFORS is part of the Saint-Gobain Group and manufactures technical fabrics and geotextiles for construction and industrial applications. The company’s product portfolio includes solutions used in infrastructure reinforcement and drainage systems.
