NBI Bearings, a manufacturer of high-precision bearings, has commenced construction of a new bearing manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad, India. The project covers a total area of 13,800 square metres and forms part of the company’s ongoing investment plan to expand production capacity and meet increasing market demand.

The facility will include automated grinding lines, offices, a warehouse, and laboratories for metallography, metrology, life testing, and vibration testing. It will also feature an in-house heat treatment line. According to the company, the investment is intended to enhance local operations, increase its presence in Asia, and respond to the growing market demand.

The company already operates a plant in Ahmedabad, which includes an automated manufacturing line for cylindrical and tapered roller bearings. This plant is equipped with CNC grinding, super finishing lines, and spherical roller grinding lines. The company also has two offices in West Bengal.

In 2020, NBI Bearings acquired a 51% stake in FKL India Private Ltd, which was subsequently renamed NBI India Ltd. At the time, NBI and Indian shareholders agreed on a four-year investment plan worth EUR 9 million aimed at expanding production capacity, increasing output, and integrating in-house heat treatment capabilities.

Since September 2024, NBI India is a wholly-owned subsidiary of NBI Bearings Europa. The company has been expanding its sales footprint in India, expanding its sales team from 5 to approximately 25 members over the past year. It intends to further grow this team over the next year.

Founded in 2002, NBI Bearings designs and manufactures high-precision bearings for industrial applications. The company operates production facilities in Spain, China, and India.
