ZEISS has inaugurated a new Quality Excellence Center (QEC) in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, marking its sixth such facility in India. The new center is intended to provide manufacturers in the region with access to precision metrology and quality assurance technologies, aligning with the company’s strategy to expand its industrial services footprint across India.
The Ahmedabad QEC is equipped with coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), optical 3D scanners, and surface measurement systems. It will offer services such as product demonstrations, application support, training, and consultation aimed at helping manufacturers optimize inspection workflows.
Aveen Padmaprabha, Head of Industrial Quality Solutions at ZEISS India Pvt. Ltd., stated, “Inauguration of ZEISS Quality Excellence Center in Ahmedabad aligns with India’s vision of becoming a global manufacturing powerhouse. This will be our sixth QEC and by establishing a dedicated Center in this region, we aim to support industries with advanced metrology solutions, application engineering expertise, and hands-on customer training, ensuring that manufacturers can enhance their quality control processes and drive greater efficiency.”
Industries expected to benefit from the new facility include automotive, medical devices, electronics, and electric vehicles. The company noted that the center is part of its broader plan to improve regional access to technical support and metrology expertise.
Technology and services available at the Ahmedabad QEC include dimensional measurement and inspection, surface and form measurement, material analysis, reverse engineering, and customer training.
ZEISS operates in nearly 50 countries with around 30 production sites and 27 research and development facilities. In the last fiscal year, the company reported revenue of 10.9 billion euros.
