Timken India Limited has inaugurated an expanded manufacturing facility for roller bearings in Bharuch, Gujarat. The facility, which represents a capital investment of INR 6 billion, will begin commercial production in the first quarter of the 2025–26 financial year. The expansion is located adjacent to Timken’s existing plant in Bharuch and will cater to growing domestic and export demand for Timken® spherical roller bearings (SRBs), cylindrical roller bearings (CRBs), and related products.

“We’ve expanded our state-of-the-art bearing manufacturing facility in Bharuch, Gujarat, enhancing our ability to serve growing demand for Timken® spherical and cylindrical roller bearings,” the company stated. “This expansion strengthens our manufacturing footprint in India and brings us closer to customers with improved speed to market.”

“This is an exciting time for Timken,” said Andreas Roellgen, executive vice president and president of Engineered Bearings. “As we continue to accelerate profitable growth in attractive markets with innovative products, the expansion of our world-class manufacturing facility in Bharuch will help increase the value and service we provide to customers in the region and around the world.”

The facility spans 55,465 square meters and includes fully automated grinding machines and advanced superfinishing equipment to support precision and efficiency throughout production. It was designed with sustainability features such as solar rooftop panels, zero liquid discharge systems, rainwater harvesting, energy-efficient HVAC and lighting, and electric material handling systems. More than 900 trees have been planted on site.

“This marks an important milestone in the company’s continued expansion in India,” said Sanjay Koul, president – India and South-East Asia and chairman of Timken India Ltd. “We are now able to manufacture Timken CRBs and SRBs locally, which will bring us closer to our customers while boosting our speed to market.”

Timken forecasts that the new plant will enable an asset turnover in the range of 2 to 3 times over the next two to three years, supporting its broader growth strategy. SRBs and CRBs produced at the Bharuch site are intended for use in energy, oil and gas, metals, mining, cement, pulp and paper, and food and beverage industries.
