ZF Group, an automotive systems supplier, has secured multiple orders in India for automotive test systems, including a 440 kW differential unit test bench and eight tyre testing systems. According to the company, these projects mark its entry into the Indian powertrain and next-generation mobility testing market.
The first order involves supplying a 440 kW transmission test bench, which ZF describes as the first of its kind in India. The system includes a direct shaft connection to the device under test (DUT), eliminating the need for intermediate gearboxes or chains, and features a 3E dynamometer configuration. The movable dynamometer offers horizontal adjustments to support a variety of DUTs.
The company has also received two additional orders: one for tyre R&D test benches from a domestic tyre manufacturer, and another for three end-of-line (EOL) testing systems for passenger car tyres from a separate Indian client. The R&D systems include rolling resistance testers and endurance and high-speed testers for passenger car and two-wheeler tyres. The EOL benches are automated quality control systems designed to inspect tyres before they leave the production line.
“These orders not just set a new benchmark in the segment but serve as a reference point for future projects in the region. These orders reinforce our commitment to innovation and excellence in engineering in automotive and industrial segments,” said Akash Passey, President of ZF Group India.
ZF stated that the new systems are part of its broader test bench portfolio, which includes solutions for driveline, active chassis, tyres and wheels, brakes, and batteries. The latest orders also cover the company’s mid-size and large-size powertrain benches, as well as low-speed uniformity and balancing test systems, which ZF says are tailored for the Indian market.
