Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited has produced two million vehicles at its manufacturing facilities in Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, marking a major milestone in its twenty-five years of operations in the country. October 2025 was recorded as the company’s strongest month in six years of operations, reflecting sustained momentum across its brands.

The milestone includes more than 500,000 vehicles built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, engineered in India for domestic conditions. This platform underpins the Škoda Kushaq, Slavia, Kylaq, and the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus. The company reported that the last 500,000 units were produced in 3.5 years, indicating sustained demand for locally developed models.

Exports continue to be a significant contributor to output, with more than 700,000 vehicles shipped to markets in Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. The Pune facility, established with an investment of nearly EUR 600 million, and the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar plant support the company’s multi-brand and multi-market strategy, aided by a focus on localisation and cost optimisation.

Škoda Auto India recorded 61,607 units between January and October 2025, more than doubling year-on-year. Volkswagen India achieved its highest monthly sales for the Virtus during the Diwali period, with the sedan holding over 40 percent share in the premium segment across forty months. The Group added that its premium and luxury brands also supported overall performance. Bentley expanded its presence with new showrooms in Mumbai and Bengaluru. Porsche India added more than 4,400 customers over the past six years and extended its network to 13 sales points. Audi posted a five percent increase in its pre-owned business during the first nine months of 2025 and expanded its electric vehicle charging network to more than 6,500 points under Phase II of its Charge My Audi initiative. Lamborghini delivered 113 vehicles in 2024, a ten percent rise over 2023, and completed the rollout of hybrid models with the introduction of the Temerario.

“Every milestone we achieve in India reflects our strong belief in the country’s potential – not just as a market but as a driving force in the future of mobility. The two-million mark is the outcome of consistent investment in people, technology and local capability. It also speaks to the exceptional trust Indian customers place in our six brands,” said Piyush Arora, CEO and Managing Director, Škoda Auto Volkswagen India.

Škoda Auto Volkswagen India manages domestic operations for Škoda, Volkswagen, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini and Porsche, and manufactures internal combustion engine and battery electric vehicles for the Indian market and exports.
