International Automotive Components (IAC) Group has inaugurated its third manufacturing facility in Chakan, India, enhancing its production capabilities in the region.
The new plant is equipped with advanced Pressure Lamination and Laser Scoring technology, aimed at improving production efficiency and product quality. This development aligns with IAC’s strategy to expand its footprint in India’s automotive sector.
IAC’s presence in Chakan began with the opening of its first plant in early 2009, followed by a second facility in 2011. The addition of the third plant underscores the company’s commitment to supporting its customers in the region.
The inauguration event was attended by IAC’s leadership team and employees, who have been instrumental in reaching this milestone. The company plans to leverage the new technologies at the facility to drive further growth and success.
In a related sustainability initiative, IAC Chakan Plant 2 has introduced its first-ever CNG vehicle for dispatch transportation, replacing diesel-powered vehicles. This transition helps reduce carbon emissions, as CNG combustion emits 16.3 kg of CO₂ per 100 km compared to diesel’s 22 kg. Additionally, CNG-powered vehicles produce lower levels of particulate matter and nitrogen oxides while benefiting from reduced maintenance costs due to lower engine wear and sealed fuel systems.
By adopting cleaner fuel alternatives, IAC is contributing to global efforts in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting more sustainable industrial practices.
