Mitsubishi Electric Corporation announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and MEMCO Associates (India) Private Limited. The agreement aims to explore collaborative opportunities in the manufacturing and supply of components for defense and space systems.
Under the MoU, the companies will identify and develop components for systems such as shipborne and airborne radars, electronic warfare systems, and space situational awareness systems. The collaboration will also focus on optimizing business models and partnership structures to enhance cooperative efforts.
BEL, based in Bengaluru, India, is a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, specializing in radar systems, electronic warfare, avionics, and other defense technologies. MEMCO Associates, also headquartered in Bengaluru, serves as a contract and marketing representative for Mitsubishi Electric in India, with over 40 years of collaboration in sectors including telecommunications and security systems.
Mitsubishi Electric reported revenues of 5,257.9 billion yen (approximately $34.8 billion USD) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024.
The MoU reflects Mitsubishi Electric’s ongoing focus on expanding its contributions to the defense and space industries in partnership with global and regional entities.
