GE Aerospace has signed a five-year Performance-Based Logistics (PBL) contract with the Indian Air Force (IAF) to provide Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services for the T700-GE-701D engines used in the IAF’s AH-64E-I Apache helicopters.
Under the agreement, GE Aerospace will handle engine MRO operations and supply flight line parts to ensure engine availability. The contract is aimed at improving turnaround times and sustaining the operational readiness of the Apache fleet.
“The agreement demonstrates GE Aerospace’s focus on supporting the Indian Air Force’s operational needs and mission readiness,” said Youngje Kim, vice president and general manager, Asia Pacific, Defense & Systems for GE Aerospace.
The T700/CT7 engine family is used in both military and civilian aircraft, with over 25,000 engines delivered globally and approximately 130 million flight hours accumulated.
GE Aerospace has been operating in India for over 40 years, with its engines used in commercial and defence aircraft. The company also has a manufacturing facility in Pune and collaborates with multiple local partners as part of its global supply chain.
