The Ministry of Steel convened a high-level stakeholders’ meeting to review preparations for the upcoming ‘India Steel 2025’ event, scheduled to take place from April 24 to 26, 2025. The meeting, chaired by Steel Secretary Sandeep Poundrik, included senior government officials, diplomats from key steel-producing nations, representatives from state governments, executives from Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), and senior officials from private sector companies.
India Steel 2025 is an international exhibition and conference designed to bring together industry stakeholders, policymakers, and business leaders to discuss developments in the steel sector. The event will feature discussions on policy frameworks, industry growth strategies, and international collaboration. It will also include an exhibition showcasing technological advancements and a Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet (RBSM) aimed at fostering trade opportunities.
During the meeting, Poundrik noted that India’s steel demand is increasing at a rate of 9% to 10%, making it one of the fastest-growing markets among major economies. He highlighted the industry’s ongoing efforts in green steel production and sustainability initiatives, as well as the role of global partnerships in advancing raw material sourcing, technology adoption, and industrial expansion.
The event is expected to facilitate engagement between domestic and international industry participants, providing a platform for discussions on emerging trends and strategic collaborations. Stakeholders were encouraged to actively participate in shaping the future of the steel sector through the event’s discussions and networking opportunities.
