Kolkata-based Titagarh Rail Systems Limited has announced the addition of a new business vertical focused on shipbuilding and maritime systems. The decision, approved by the company’s Board of Directors on February 3, 2025, marks an expansion beyond its core rail-based operations.

The new maritime division will undertake shipbuilding, ship repair, and related activities. The company has also introduced another vertical, Signalling and Safety Systems, which will focus on railway signalling, train control, and monitoring solutions.

As part of the organizational restructuring, Saket Kandoi, previously Director (Freight Rolling Stock), has been designated as Director & CEO (Maritime) and will oversee the development of the shipbuilding business. He will also serve as the interim CEO of the Freight Rail Systems division.

Additionally, Anil Kumar Agarwal, formerly Deputy Managing Director and CEO of Freight Rail Systems, will now serve as Deputy Managing Director of the company, overseeing both Freight and Passenger Rail Systems.
