Larsen & Toubro’s Minerals & Metals (M&M) business vertical has secured a contract to build a Pellet Plant and a Direct Reduction of Iron (DRI) Plant for a steel producer in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region. The project falls within the company’s “major” classification, indicating a contract value between ₹5,000 crore and ₹10,000 crore.

The contract covers the engineering, supply, erection, and construction of the plants using internationally recognized technologies. The project is part of a broader industry effort toward reducing carbon emissions in steel production.

D K Sen, Executive Committee Member and Advisor to the Chairman and Managing Director of L&T, stated that the project aligns with the company’s experience in delivering iron and steel manufacturing plants in the region.

L&T’s M&M business provides engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services across mining, minerals processing, industrial products, and metallurgical plants. The company also supplies solutions for sectors including mining, cement, construction, steel, fertilizers, and ports.
