NBC Bearings announced its entry into the advanced drone technology segment through the acquisition of a minority stake in Ahamani EV Technology India Private Limited, expanding its presence beyond traditional motion solutions into emerging aerial technology applications. The company has acquired a 30 percent equity stake in Ahamani India for an undisclosed amount, marking a strategic diversification aligned with growing demand for drone systems in India.

NBC Bearings is the bearing and precision engineering brand of National Engineering Industries Limited, the engineering arm of the CKA Birla Group. The investment positions NBC Bearings to participate in the development and localisation of high-performance drone systems and critical components for domestic and international markets.

Ahamani India is a subsidiary of Taiwan-based unmanned aerial vehicle and component manufacturer Ahamani Advanced Inc. The Indian subsidiary will serve as the focal platform for expanding access to advanced drone platforms and components tailored to local market requirements, while leveraging technology developed by its parent entity in Taiwan.

The collaboration is aimed at accelerating the commercialisation and adoption of next-generation drone technologies across a range of applications. By combining Ahamani’s drone platforms, power systems and control technologies with NBC Bearings’ experience in high-precision engineering and large-scale manufacturing, the partnership seeks to deliver reliable, scalable and cost-effective solutions for multiple drone use cases.

“This partnership with Ahamani allows us to extend our engineering strengths into emerging technology domains with strong market potential. By working together, we aim to support India’s growing demand for advanced drone solutions while contributing to the development of a robust domestic technology ecosystem,” said Rohit Saboo, President and Chief Executive Officer of National Engineering Industries Limited.

NBC Bearings stated that its manufacturing capabilities, quality systems and established market reach will support faster localisation and deployment of drone technologies in India. The company expects this to help shorten go-to-market timelines while maintaining global standards of performance and reliability, and to reduce dependence on imported drone systems and components.

Tzu Chi Kung, founder and Chairman of Ahamani Advanced Inc, said India represents a significant growth opportunity for advanced drone applications. “Through this partnership with NBC, we are accelerating our market expansion by combining strong local manufacturing capabilities with Ahamani’s proven drone and power electronics technologies. Our focus is on delivering practical, scalable solutions that meet real-world industrial and commercial needs,” Kung said.

NBC Bearings operates as part of National Engineering Industries Limited, which manufactures bearings and precision-engineered components for automotive, industrial and mobility applications. The company has multiple manufacturing facilities in India and supplies products to both domestic customers and export markets.
