Shakti Pumps (India) Limited invested INR 30 million in its wholly owned subsidiary Shakti Energy Solutions Limited to support the establishment of a greenfield manufacturing facility for high-efficiency solar domestic content requirement (DCR) cells and solar photovoltaic (PV) modules. The proposed plant is to be located in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, and is planned with an installed production capacity of 2.20 gigawatts.

According to the company’s stock exchange filing, the investment has been made through the subscription of equity shares issued by the subsidiary.

Shakti Energy Solutions Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Shakti Pumps (India) Limited and was incorporated on 06 September 2010. The subsidiary is currently engaged in the manufacture of solar structures and solar rooftop systems and is expanding its operations to include the manufacturing of solar DCR cells and solar PV modules. The new facility is intended to broaden the subsidiary’s manufacturing scope within the solar energy segment.

The company stated that no government or regulatory approvals are required for the investment and that the transaction does not fall under related party transactions. The filing noted that the investment was completed on the same day and that equity shares will be issued from time to time as per the agreement between the parent company and the subsidiary.

Financial disclosures show that Shakti Energy Solutions Limited reported a turnover of INR 2.17 billion in the financial year ended FY2025. The subsidiary recorded revenues of INR 1.40 billion in FY2024 and INR 991.5 million in FY2023, indicating an increase in turnover over the last three financial years.

Shakti Pumps (India) Limited is engaged in the manufacturing of pumps and related products. Through its subsidiary, the company has expanded into solar-related manufacturing activities, including solar structures and rooftop solutions, and is now adding solar cell and module manufacturing capacity as part of its business operations.
