RMC Switchgears Limited has announced progress on its 1 GW solar module manufacturing plant in Jaipur, the receipt of a contract worth INR 591.2 million from Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd. (JVVNL), and updates on its application for migration to the BSE Main Board.

The solar module plant, with an estimated investment of INR 1 billion, was initially scheduled to start operations in October 2025. The timeline has now been revised to the fourth quarter of the current financial year due to delays. Funding for the project has been secured through internal accruals and debt from SIDBI. RMC has recruited staff for the facility and placed orders for essential capital equipment, which are expected to be installed and commissioned in line with the revised schedule. The company expects the plant to achieve full-scale operations by FY26.

In addition, RMC Switchgears has received a Letter of Intent from JVVNL for a contract valued at INR 591.2 million under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). The project involves developing distribution infrastructure for segregation of 11 KV mixed feeders at Tonk Circle in Rajasthan, to be executed on a turnkey basis.

On the corporate front, RMC has confirmed that its application for migration to the BSE Main Board is complete. The company is awaiting confirmation from the exchange following recent changes in eligibility criteria.

“Our progress on the 1 GW Solar Module Manufacturing Plant in Jaipur is not merely an operational milestone; it represents a strategic pillar in our efforts to build an integrated solar value chain,” said Ankit Agrawal, Whole-time Director and CEO of RMC Switchgears Limited. He added, “Alongside this, we are pleased to have secured a new INR 59.12 crore order from Jaipur Discom under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).”
