Aerpace Industries Limited has commissioned its integrated research and development (R&D) and manufacturing facility in the Chakan industrial region of Pune. The facility is intended to support the company’s renewable energy and defence manufacturing verticals.

A soft launch event was conducted at the facility along with an all-employee strategic alignment session. The session included a presentation of its integrated ecosystem strategy covering solar manufacturing, defence drone systems, sustainable transportation platforms, and proprietary software systems.

Aerpace stated that installation and calibration of solar panel manufacturing machinery at the Pune facility have been completed. Mechanical installation, electrical integration, and system calibration are finalised, and the company is positioned to commence production.

The facility is designed to achieve a production capacity of up to 2,000 solar panels per day. Commercial production is scheduled to begin in the first week of April 2026, with initial output focused on process stabilisation, quality validation, and output optimisation.

The company has also initiated the setup of defence drone manufacturing and assembly infrastructure at the Pune facility. Procurement of machinery has begun, deliveries of key systems have commenced, and installation and commissioning are in progress. The facility is expected to support unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) assembly, subsystem manufacturing including flight control, propulsion and communication systems, as well as testing and validation activities.

Aerpace stated that the Pune facility will function as an integrated hub supporting solar panel manufacturing, UAV assembly and integration, engineering and testing, research and development, and stakeholder demonstration programmes. The company outlined near-term priorities including commencement of solar production, installation of drone manufacturing lines, and development and validation of UAV platforms.
