Flint Group, a global supplier to the printing and packaging industry, has announced the opening of a new manufacturing facility in Savli, Vadodara, Gujarat, to enhance its production of water-based and energy-curable inks for the Paper & Board and Narrow Web industries. The facility spans 9,000 square meters and is part of the company’s efforts to address increasing regional demand in these sectors.
The plant, located approximately 10 kilometers from Flint Group’s Flexible Packaging site in Lamdapura, complements existing operations in India. The company’s Indian presence also includes facilities in Hosur, which produce inks for Narrow Web labels, and Noida, along with warehouses in Kolkata, Mumbai, and Hyderabad.
The new Vadodara facility is set to manufacture the AQUACode range of water-based inks and coatings for Paper & Board converters. These products will initially be rolled out in phases, with full operational capabilities, including in-house base manufacturing, expected by the second quarter of 2025. The plant will also produce the EkoCure® Dual Cure range of inks, designed to be compatible with both traditional mercury UV and low-energy UV LED curing systems, to serve the Label & Narrow Web market.
The facility’s development aligns with Flint Group’s strategy to expand its production capabilities in the region. Upal Roy, Managing Director for India, South Africa, and the Middle East, stated that the plant would enhance local manufacturing capacity and position the company to meet customer needs in a growing market.
The site was officially inaugurated during an event held on November 26, 2024, attended by company representatives and customers.
