RMC Switchgears Limited has announced plans to establish a solar module manufacturing plant with an annual production capacity of 1 gigawatt peak (GWp) and an equivalent capacity for solar module mounting structures. The facility will be set up in Badodiya Village, Chaksu Tehsil, Jaipur, Rajasthan, adjacent to the company’s existing operations. The project involves an estimated investment of ₹100 crore and is expected to commence commercial operations by August 2025.

The project will be financed through a combination of internal accruals, equity, and debt. It will be executed by RMC Green Energy Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of RMC Switchgears. To facilitate this, the parent company will increase its ownership in RMC Green Energy from 51% to nearly 100% through equity infusion and share purchases.

RMC Switchgears aims to integrate backward by producing solar modules and mounting structures to support its solar EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) and IPP (Independent Power Producer) projects. The initiative is expected to enhance cost efficiencies, strengthen supply chain reliability, and reduce dependence on external suppliers.

The company anticipates significant market demand for its products and projects robust revenue growth in fiscal year 2026. The facility is part of RMC’s strategy to expand its renewable energy capabilities and aligns with its broader Vision 2030 goal of achieving a ₹5,000 crore turnover.

RMC Switchgears is active in the electrical infrastructure sector, with products ranging from electrical enclosures to renewable energy solutions. The company also plans to leverage India’s growing investments in power transmission and distribution infrastructure.

This development reflects the company’s efforts to adapt to the evolving clean energy market while maintaining its presence in traditional power infrastructure.
