JSW Energy announced the achievement of 20 GW in locked-in generation capacity, following the addition of 445 MW in renewable energy projects within the commercial and industrial (C&I) power market. The company’s C&I portfolio now includes 3.1 GW of locked-in renewable energy capacity, comprising 2,654 MW for JSW’s group captive use and 445 MW for third-party clients. The operational C&I capacity currently stands at 488 MW.
Recent power purchase agreements (PPAs) were executed by JSW Energy’s subsidiaries with DCM Shriram Ltd and Indus Towers Ltd for the supply of renewable energy. These contracts contributed to the company reaching this capacity milestone.
JSW Energy’s operational capacity across its portfolio totals 7.7 GW, encompassing thermal, hydro, wind, and solar power. The company is targeting 10 GW in operational capacity by the fiscal year 2025 and aims to reach 20 GW of total generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030. The company has also secured 16.2 GWh of energy storage capacity through battery and hydro-pumped storage projects.
Looking further ahead, JSW Energy has set a goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, emphasizing its strategic focus on renewable energy and sustainability.
