L&T Energy Green Tech Limited (LTEGL) and John Cockerill Energy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore technologies related to Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) and Thermal Energy Storage (TES). The collaboration will focus on manufacturing, component supply, and engineering solutions aimed at advancing these technologies.
LTEGL, a subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro (L&T), operates in renewable energy solutions, including green hydrogen and electrolyser manufacturing. John Cockerill Energy specializes in energy transition technologies, including steam generators, industrial boilers, and cooling systems.
Subramanian Sarma, Whole-time Director & President (Energy) at L&T, stated that ensuring continuous renewable power availability is essential for energy transition efforts. The partnership aims to integrate John Cockerill’s CSP and TES expertise with L&T’s engineering and manufacturing capabilities.
John Cockerill Energy CEO Thomas Bohner highlighted that the company’s CSP and TES technologies are deployed globally, with installations in the United Arab Emirates, China, Chile, and South Africa. He expressed confidence that the collaboration would expand the adoption of these solutions in India.
Derek Shah, Senior Vice President & Head of L&T Energy – Green Manufacturing & Development, noted that the partnership would support the deployment of renewable round-the-clock power generation. Vivek Bhide, Regional President and Group Transformation Officer at John Cockerill, added that the collaboration aligns with increasing industry efforts to adopt sustainable energy solutions.
