Suchi Semicon has inaugurated a $100 million outsourced semiconductor assembly and testing (OSAT) facility in Surat, Gujarat, with production set to begin for a major client. The plant includes a pilot production line capable of manufacturing 300,000 chips daily and is expected to generate $100 million in revenue within its first three years.

The facility focuses on advanced semiconductor assembly and testing, targeting industries such as lighting and consumer electronics. Plans are underway to expand production lines and equipment to meet increasing demand. Co-founder Shetal Mehta stated that the company expects to scale production within one to three months, citing the readiness of its infrastructure.

The inaugural function of Suchi Semicon’s new facility in Surat, Gujarat, was attended by Union Minister of Jal Shakti C R Paatil, Gujarat’s Minister of State for Home, Industries, and Transport Harsh Sanghavi, and Mona Khandhar, Principal Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat. Other attendees included Manish Gurwani, Managing Director of GSEM, senior government officials, industry leaders, and members of the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) Executive Council. During the event, Suchi Semicon’s founders, including Ashok Mehta, were recognized for their contributions to the semiconductor sector.

Suchi Semicon’s operations align with Gujarat’s semiconductor policy, and the company has submitted a proposal to the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) for additional support. However, the company financed the project independently to meet development timelines.
