Garuda Aerospace, a drone manufacturer and service provider, has announced new contracts with several mining corporations across India. The agreements include partnerships with Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC), Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI) in Jharkhand, Odisha Mining Corporation, and private mining companies. The company will supply drones and related technology aimed at improving efficiency and safety in mining operations.

According to a press release issued by the company, the drones will be used for volumetric analysis of stockpiles, 2D and 3D terrain mapping, and project monitoring. These applications aim to enhance resource management, provide detailed aerial site views, and enable accurate measurement of materials extracted.

The use of drones in mining operations offers faster data collection, improved accuracy, and reduced operational costs compared to traditional methods. The technology will also support safety inspections in hazardous areas, including high walls and pit bottoms, to help mitigate risks.

“This expansion into the mining sector marks an important development for Garuda Aerospace,” said Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO of the company.

In addition to its mining activities, Garuda Aerospace has previously received six certifications from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and operates in other sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, disaster management, and defense.
