Maritime Montering has secured two contracts from Cochin Shipyard for the turnkey interior and accommodation outfitting of hydrogen-powered container vessels commissioned by Samskip. The vessels are scheduled for outfitting to begin in the second quarter of 2025, with teams from Maritime Montering’s India and Romania operations collaborating on the project.

The vessels are 132 meters in length and are designed by Naval Dynamics AS. They are powered by green hydrogen and are intended for short-sea container transport. The outfitting scope includes complete accommodation solutions for crew members, integrating interior design, furniture production, engineering, and technical works.

Uday Natu, CEO of Maritime Montering India, stated: “The entrusted 2 vessels demonstrate the confidence our clients have in our execution ability to deliver world-class accommodation solutions for their vessels in India.”

Cornel Mihaila, Project Manager for India operations at Maritime Montering Romania, said: “We are thrilled to have been selected for this important project. The synergy between our Romania and India offices will ensure the highest quality turnkey accommodation, supporting Samskip’s bold sustainability goals.”

Cochin Shipyard is constructing the vessels at its facility in Kochi. The contract contributes to the yard’s ongoing involvement in advanced shipbuilding projects for international clients.
