Himile Molds (India) has inaugurated a new facility in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, to expand its tyre mold servicing operations. The site, which opened on 21 July 2025, will initially focus on servicing molds, with plans to transition into a full-scale manufacturing unit.

According to the company, the Chennai plant will cater to major tyre manufacturers including Apollo Tyres, Bridgestone, CEAT, Continental, Goodyear, JK Tyres, Michelin, MRF Tyres, and Yokohama. The facility adds to Himile’s existing operations in India, primarily based in Vadodara, Gujarat.

As of last year, Himile Molds (India) has produced over 3,000 tyre molds and currently employs more than 400 professionals. Its monthly production capacity includes 80 passenger car radial (PCR) molds, 25 truck and bus radial (TBR) molds, and 30 two-piece molds.

Founded in 2019, Himile Molds (India) is a subsidiary of Himile Mechanical Science & Technology Co., Ltd., a China-based manufacturer of tyre molds. The Indian unit supports clients in both domestic and international tyre markets.
