Vibhor Steel Tubes Ltd (VSTL) has started supplying Electric Resistance Welded (ERW) and Galvanised (GI) pipes from its newly commissioned plant in Sundargarh, Odisha. The facility, with an installed capacity of 156,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA), began commercial production in July 2025 after receiving electricity access on 11 July.
The Odisha plant, built on 23.98 acres, involved an investment of INR 1,198.3 million over 30 months. With its commissioning, the company’s total installed capacity has increased to 377,000 MTPA across three plants located in Maharashtra, Telangana and Odisha. The new unit will also produce value-added steel products such as crash barriers, power transmission line towers, high mast lighting poles, octagonal poles and monopoles.
“The commencement of supply of ERW and GI pipes from the Sundargarh facility marks a significant milestone in strengthening our production and distribution capabilities, ensuring timely supply and enhanced service to our valued customers. The state-of-the-art plant focuses on production of high value-added products, which is set to significantly boost our margins in the coming quarters. This will also enable us to tap into newer markets and also focus on exports in a big way. We see a significant growth in both our topline and bottomline in the forthcoming quarters,” said Vijay Kaushik, Chairman and Executive Director, Vibhor Steel Tubes.
For the quarter ended 30 June 2025, the company reported a net profit of INR 31.4 million and an operating income of INR 2.31 billion. For FY2024–25, VSTL recorded an operating income of INR 9.96 billion to INR 10.73 billion in FY2023–24. Net profit stood at INR 117.7 million in FY2024–25 against INR 177.2 million in the previous year. The company attributed this performance to its focus on value-added products and higher volumes of ERW tubes.
In February 2024, Vibhor Steel Tubes raised INR 721.7 million through its initial public offering on the BSE and NSE. More than 80 percent of its turnover comes from a contract manufacturing agreement with Jindal Pipes, under which it produces and supplies finished goods under the brand name Jindal Star. The company’s products are distributed across western and southern India, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
Vibhor Steel Tubes Ltd is a two-decade-old manufacturer, exporter and supplier of steel pipes and tubes for heavy engineering and structural applications.
