Welspun Tubular LLC, a subsidiary of Welspun Corp Ltd, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of its pipe manufacturing facility in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA. The $100 million investment, announced earlier in September 2024, aims to upgrade the High-Frequency Induction Welding (HFIW) pipe production capabilities and expand the company’s product range.
The upgraded facility will produce pipes with outer diameters of up to 24 inches and wall thicknesses of up to 0.75 inches, including grades up to X80. Once completed, the facility will have a production capacity of 350,000 metric tons per annum (KMTPA) for HFIW pipes.
The event was attended by Welspun World Chairman B.K. Goenka, Welspun Corp Managing Director Vipul Mathur, and local officials, including Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Speaking at the ceremony, Goenka highlighted the company’s long-standing presence in Arkansas since establishing its manufacturing unit at the Port of Little Rock in 2007. The facility has undergone multiple expansions, with cumulative investments exceeding $300 million.
Welspun Corp Ltd operates globally, manufacturing large-diameter pipes, ductile iron pipes, stainless steel tubes, and thermo-mechanically treated rebars. Its manufacturing footprint spans six continents and 50 countries, with facilities located in India and the United States.
