Cochin International Aviation Services Limited (CIASL) has entered into a licensed agreement with Airworks India to expand aircraft maintenance services at Cochin International Airport. The agreement includes base maintenance, lease return checks, aircraft preservation, and re-registration support, which will be carried out at CIASL’s maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) hangar.
Under the arrangement, Airworks will operate CIASL’s infrastructure, which includes two narrow-body aircraft hangars of 2,750 square metres each, with automated doors. The facility also has 6,500 square metres of workshops and support facilities across two floors. It is equipped to perform MPD maintenance tasks on Airbus A320 and Boeing B737 aircraft families.
CIASL plans to inaugurate a third narrow-body MRO hangar in February 2026. The new facility will have 4,280 square metres of covered aircraft parking space and will be able to accommodate either two A320/B737 NG-MAX aircraft simultaneously or multiple Code A, B, and C aircraft, including business jets and seaplanes.
The expansion will provide airlines and operators with greater scheduling flexibility and faster turnaround times.
CIASL provides line maintenance services at Cochin International Airport, supporting all airlines operating at the hub. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin International Airport Limited and focuses on MRO and related aviation support services.
