Jaya Hind Industries Limited marked the ground-breaking ceremony for the expansion of its aluminium die-casting manufacturing facility in Chennai on 18 December 2025, as the company moves to increase capacity and strengthen vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities in India. The expansion reflects rising order volumes across domestic and export markets and the growing demand for aluminium components across conventional and electric vehicle applications.
The expanded facility is located at Kottaiyur Village in Thiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu, and is being developed with an investment of approximately INR 200 million. The project is intended to support additional high-pressure die-casting capacity and expanded machining operations to address sustained utilisation at the existing plant.
As part of the expansion, Jaya Hind Industries plans to install high-pressure die-casting machines ranging from 1,400 tonnes to 4,400 tonnes. These machines will enable the production of a broad range of aluminium components, including internal combustion engine parts, electric vehicle components, and large structural castings. A new production shed covering nearly 13,000 square metres is planned to house the additional die-casting and machining infrastructure.
The Chennai plant will also incorporate several in-house downstream processes as part of the company’s vertical integration strategy. These include machining, powder coating, heat treatment, honing, and impregnation. The company said these capabilities are intended to improve quality assurance, operational efficiency, and control over complex manufacturing requirements.
The expansion is being driven by a strong pipeline of confirmed and prospective orders that has fully utilised existing capacity at the Chennai facility. Once operational, the expanded plant is expected to support a diversified customer base that includes export customers such as Cummins and Generac in the United States, domestic original equipment manufacturers including TVS Motor Company in the super-premium two-wheeler segment, and emerging manufacturers of electric vehicle modules.
When fully developed, the Chennai facility is planned to have an installed production capacity of approximately 20,000 tonnes per year. The increased capacity is expected to play a role in meeting growing demand from both traditional automotive segments and new mobility applications.
“This expansion marks a significant milestone in our growth journey,” said Prasan Firodia, Managing Director of Jaya Hind Industries. “With strong order momentum across domestic and export markets, the Chennai facility will play a pivotal role in augmenting our die-casting capacity while deepening our vertical integration. By investing in advanced high-pressure die-casting and machining capabilities and critical in-house processes, we are strengthening our ability to deliver high-quality, complex aluminium solutions with greater control, consistency, and speed,” he said.
