Dolphin Plast India Private Limited, a manufacturer of plastic injection moulding machines, has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in the Bhavda area of Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The facility is intended to serve as the company’s primary production hub for injection moulding machines catering to automotive, industrial, consumer, electrical, and medical applications.
The new unit has been established to support domestic demand for energy-efficient injection moulding equipment and to strengthen Dolphin Plast India’s manufacturing footprint shortly after its incorporation in July 2023.
The plant has been designed to support engineering operations and includes dedicated areas for machine assembly, quality testing, and research and development. Assembly lines are configured for precision integration of hydraulic and electrical systems, while testing facilities are intended to conduct performance and quality checks before dispatch. A separate research and development section focuses on the development of servo-driven systems aimed at improving energy efficiency.
Manufacturing at the facility is centred on the company’s DLS Series and Smart Series of servo-driven hydraulic injection moulding machines. These machines cover a clamping force range from 60 tonnes to 1,150 tonnes, enabling production of equipment suitable for small precision components as well as large industrial and automotive parts. The company states that the servo systems integrated into these machines can reduce energy consumption by 20 percent to 80 percent compared with conventional hydraulic machines.
The machines produced at the Ahmedabad facility are used by downstream manufacturers to produce automotive components such as bumpers and dashboards, household products including chairs and containers, industrial items such as crates and pallets, and precision parts for medical and electrical applications. The production line also supports manufacturing of machines for PVC fittings and engineering plastics.
Operations at the facility are overseen by directors Viral Antala, Sanjay Antala, Vivek Antala and Rakesh Vora, who are responsible for scaling manufacturing and serving customers across India.
