Hical Technologies will commission a new aerospace manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu to expand capacity in precision machining, fabrication and special processes, with production expected to be ready by the first quarter of 2027. The company is headquartered in Electronic City, Bengaluru, and the Hosur site is located around 40 minutes from its headquarters.
The new unit will house equipment dedicated to aerospace mechanical manufacturing and is designed to support direct aerospace exports as well as act as a vertically integrated extension of the company’s electro-mechanical assembly operations. Precision machining activities will be located on one side of the road, while special processes will be housed on the opposite side, enabling parallel execution of machining and downstream processing.
“To support upcoming and new contracts, we are expanding our capacity in precision machining, fabrication and special processes,” said Jaiveer Yashas Shashikiran, Joint Managing Director at Hical Technologies. “In addition to direct aerospace exports, the facility will also act as a vertical integration unit to our electro mechanical assembly factories.”
The facility is intended to reduce dependence on external subcontractors for critical aerospace processes and improve control over quality and delivery timelines. It will also function as a feeder unit for the company’s electro-mechanical assembly factories, supporting end-to-end manufacturing of aerospace components and sub-systems for export and domestic programmes.
Founded in 1988 and headquartered in Electronic City, Bengaluru, Hical Technologies manufactures electromagnetic, electromechanical and mechanical systems for aerospace and defence applications. Its capabilities include precision machining, sheet metal fabrication, motors, solenoids, actuators, transformers, cable harnesses and box-build assemblies.
The company operates with AS9100 Rev D and ISO 9001:2015 certifications and holds National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (NADCAP) approvals for processes such as welding and cable harness manufacturing through its subsidiaries. It is also an approved vendor for Indian space and research organisations, with its actuators used in multiple launch vehicle programmes.
Hical has an Indo-French joint venture, Hical-NSE Electronics Private Limited, formed with NSE Industries of France, which manufactures wiring harnesses, avionics-related assemblies and radar-related sub-assemblies for defence aircraft programmes. The company supplies to global aerospace and defence customers across the United States, Europe and India.
As of July 31, 2025, Hical had an order book of around INR 1.72 billion, providing revenue visibility for the next 18 months. The company recorded operating income of about INR 2.12 billion in FY2025, compared with INR 1.58 billion in the previous year, reflecting increased order inflows from export markets and domestic defence programmes. There was an improvement in its operating profit margin (OPM) from around 12 percent in FY2024 to around 14 percent in FY2025.
Hical operates manufacturing facilities in and around Bengaluru with capabilities spanning mechanical manufacturing, special processes and electro-mechanical assembly, serving aerospace, defence and space customers in India and overseas.
