Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd., a manufacturer of consumer electricals, has received a Letter of Award valued at over INR 1.01 billion (exclusive of GST) from the Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) for supplying 4,500 off-grid Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS) across Maharashtra. The project is part of Component-B of the PM-KUSUM scheme and includes the design, manufacture, supply, transportation, installation, testing, commissioning, and a five-year comprehensive maintenance contract.
The pumps are intended to support irrigation in off-grid and rural areas. Crompton will deploy trained field personnel and local district support teams for project execution and after-sales service. The company noted that the project aligns with national efforts to promote renewable energy adoption in agriculture.

Crompton has participated in similar tenders in Haryana, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh. The company is already operational in Haryana, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra and is preparing to start work in Madhya Pradesh.
