Gensol Engineering Limited has been awarded a contract valued at Rs 780 crore from a public utility in Maharashtra to develop a 150 MWac ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant. The project will be completed within 15 months and includes full engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services.

The agreement covers all phases of the project, including land acquisition, design, engineering, procurement, and logistics, followed by the construction, supply, erection, installation, testing, and commissioning of the grid-connected solar PV power plant. It also entails building the required power evacuation infrastructure for the connection to the State Transmission Utility (STU) substation.

Additionally, Gensol will provide three years of operation and maintenance services for the plant, which includes managing the plant’s transmission infrastructure and switchyard.

Shilpa Urhekar, CEO of Solar EPC (India) at Gensol Engineering Ltd., noted that the project underscores the company’s role in delivering solar power solutions.

The contract aligns with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) action plan from April 2022, which aims to advance renewable energy in Maharashtra as part of India’s green energy goals.

This project adds to Gensol’s growing portfolio of renewable energy initiatives, as it continues to expand its work in the sector.
