Avaada Electro has commenced work on a 5 GW integrated solar module manufacturing facility in Greater Noida, with an investment aimed at expanding India’s solar manufacturing capacity. The foundation stone for the plant, located in Ecotech-16, was laid as part of a broader initiative by the company to strengthen its presence in the renewable energy sector. Additionally, Avaada Group inaugurated a 1.5 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Noida.
The newly operational 1.5 GW facility in Dadri is equipped to produce TOPCon N-Type bifacial glass-to-glass photovoltaic modules. It features multi-bus bar configurations ranging from 16 to 24 bus bars and supports M10 and G12 cell production. The facility currently manufactures 5,800 modules daily, with an annual production capacity of 1.2 GW for M10 modules and 1.5 GW for G12 modules.
The upcoming 5 GW plant in Greater Noida will specialize in high-efficiency TOPCon N-Type solar cells. The facility, spanning over 50 acres, is expected to create more than 3,000 jobs and obtain international certifications such as BIS, IEC, and UL.
Speaking at the event, Avaada Group Chairman Vineet Mittal highlighted the company’s focus on research and development, stating that the Noida facility will contribute to technological advancements in solar manufacturing.
Avaada Group is involved in solar module production, renewable power generation, and green hydrogen and ammonia initiatives. The company has previously secured a USD 1.3 billion investment from Brookfield’s Energy Transition Fund and GPSC, a subsidiary of Thailand’s PTT Group.
