Prostarm Info Systems Limited, a manufacturer of energy storage and power conditioning equipment, announced plans to establish a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing plant at Reliance MET City, Jhajjar, Haryana. The facility will have an annual production capacity of 1.2 GWh and is expected to be commissioned by the end of the financial year 2026.
The company has secured a nine-year lease, starting in May 2025, for a 3,912.15 sq. meter land parcel with a covered shed area of 34,000 sq. ft. The project’s capital expenditure is estimated at INR 250 million, covering advanced plant and machinery, office infrastructure, HVAC systems, power upgrades, anti-static flooring, warehousing, and other necessary infrastructure for assembly and integration. The BESS products manufactured will serve both Commercial and Industrial (C&I) and utility-scale applications.
India’s BESS market is projected to expand from less than 0.2 GW currently to 66 GW by 2032. This growth reflects increasing integration of renewable energy and the need for grid stability. Industry data also projects an addition of over 44 GW of BESS capacity by 2030, supporting renewable energy adoption and significant carbon emissions reduction.

Prostarm has secured a 22 MWh order from Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited valued at approximately INR 520 million for design, supply, installation, commissioning, and testing. Additionally, it has received a letter of intent from Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited for 120 MWh on a Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) model with a monthly rental of INR 444,000 per MW for 12 years.
