Rolls-Royce and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enable internships and joint research in defence engineering. The agreement was signed by Prof. Sachin C. Patwardhan, Dean (R&D), IIT Bombay, and G. S. Selwyn, Executive Vice-President of Rolls-Royce India. Alex Zino, Director — Business Development and Future Programmes (UK & International) at Rolls-Royce, and senior representatives from both organisations attended the signing.
Under the MoU, students from IIT Bombay who are selected for internship opportunities will work with Rolls-Royce’s defence engineering team in Bengaluru.
The collaboration is intended to promote knowledge exchange, skills development and joint projects in areas of mutual interest between the academic and industrial partners. According to G. S. Selwyn, the partnership reflects a commitment to building collaborations that advance innovation and talent development and enable structured engagement between academia and industry.
