Hyundai Motor India Ltd. reviewed the progress of its upcoming manufacturing facility in Pune during a recent meeting between the company’s leadership team and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Alongside updates on the plant, the company outlined a set of corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects valued at INR 560 million to be implemented in the state.

The meeting also included the launch of two initiatives linked to sustainability and mobility. The IONIQ Forest Project, with an investment of INR 320 million, will see one million trees planted on 90.5 acres at Dange Chowk in Pune using the Miyawaki technique. In addition, Hyundai committed INR 40 million to the Easy Roads Initiative, which includes setting up a Traffic Engineering Centre and an Organisation Development Centre in Pune and Nagpur.

The CSR portfolio also includes healthcare support, rural welfare programmes, financial literacy campaigns, cancer awareness, grassroots sports and cultural development, as well as training in automotive skills. These will be carried out through the Hyundai Motor India Foundation.

The company operates production facilities and distribution networks across the country, with the Pune plant expected to expand its manufacturing footprint.
