Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited announced that its heat treatment facility has received NADCAP accreditation. The development relates to the company’s metallurgical processing capabilities for aerospace and defence applications and its participation in global supply chains.

The company said in a stock exchange filing that the accreditation has been awarded to its heat treatment facility, aligning with quality standards and process control requirements in the aerospace sector.

The accreditation reflects compliance with global aerospace industry requirements and is expected to support MIDHANI’s role in critical aerospace and defence programmes. The company stated that achieving the accreditation would strengthen its metallurgical processing capabilities.

NADCAP (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) accreditation is associated with validation of special processes such as heat treatment, where output quality cannot be fully verified without destructive testing. The accreditation indicates that process controls meet requirements for consistent output, and it may enable acceptance of components by global aerospace original equipment manufacturers without the need for separate facility audits.

The development comes alongside recent operational updates. As of 4 February 2026, MIDHANI reported an open order book of INR 25.9 billion, including a fresh order of INR 1.58 billion for strategic defence materials.

In its materials development activities, the company has indigenised 50 percent of the alloy systems required for aero engines, with 80 percent of these alloys certified for production. These include high-temperature nickel-based superalloys and titanium alloys for aerospace applications.

MIDHANI has also expanded its production infrastructure. A vacuum arc remelting facility with a capacity of 500 tonnes per annum has been commissioned and is in ramp-up, supporting the production of titanium for space and defence use. In addition, a strip polishing machine was installed at its cold rolling mills in February 2026 to enhance surface finish quality for specialty steel strips.

The company has also undertaken supply of finished products, including 31 titanium alloy windows for a construction project in Ayodhya and over 90 tonnes of material for structures associated with Republic Day 2026.

Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited is a Government of India enterprise engaged in the manufacturing of special steels, superalloys, and titanium alloys for sectors including aerospace, defence, and energy.
