Time Technoplast Ltd. has secured approval from the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization (PESO) to produce Type-3 fully wrapped fiber-reinforced composite cylinders. These cylinders, with a capacity of 6.8 liters, are designed to store hydrogen for fuel cell-powered unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and drones.

The technology aims to enhance UAV and drone performance through a lightweight design that increases power-to-weight efficiency. Hydrogen storage in these cylinders allows for extended flight times, greater payloads, and faster refueling compared to conventional battery systems. This positions the company to meet the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions in various industries, including defense, agriculture, surveillance, and logistics.

The global UAV and drone sector, currently valued at around USD 30 billion, is expected to reach USD 60 billion by 2032, driven by an annual growth rate of 11%, according to market reports. Time Technoplast’s latest approval aligns with its strategy to provide advanced technology solutions for the hydrogen energy market.

This follows the company’s earlier PESO approval for Type-4 non-metallic composite cylinders, designed for hydrogen storage and transport.
