Silectric Semiconductor Manufacturing Pvt Ltd has announced an investment of ₹3,425.60 crore in an electronics manufacturing cluster at Kochanahalli, Mysuru. The project, approved by Karnataka’s 64th State High-Level Clearance Committee (SHLCC), is expected to generate 460 jobs.

The SHLCC meeting, chaired by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, cleared ten industrial proposals worth ₹9,823 crore across multiple sectors, collectively projected to create 5,605 jobs. These include three new projects and six expansions or amendments to existing plans.

Other approved new investments include DN Solutions India Pvt Ltd’s ₹998 crore project at the ITIR in Devanahalli, expected to generate 467 jobs, and Sansera Engineering Ltd’s ₹2,150 crore investment in Harohalli, which is estimated to create 3,500 jobs.

The six expansion or amended projects, collectively valued at ₹3,249.7 crore, are anticipated to create 1,178 jobs. Highlights include:

  • Musashi Autoparts India Pvt Ltd’s ₹122.66 crore investment in Doddaballapura, generating 478 jobs.
  • JSW Cement Ltd’s ₹486.82 crore project in Toranagal, Ballari, creating 225 jobs.
  • NIDEC Industrial Automation India Pvt Ltd’s ₹200 crore project in Belur, Dharwad, expected to create 150 jobs.
  • Epsilon Carbon Pvt Ltd’s ₹740 crore expansion in Sandur, generating 325 jobs.
  • K B Steels Pvt Ltd’s ₹852.49 crore project in Hosapete, Vijayanagara.
  • Sify Data Managed Services Ltd’s ₹847.74 crore initiative in the High-Tech Defence and Aerospace Park.

The Kochanahalli electronics manufacturing cluster spans 234 acres near Kadakola in Mysuru and is designated for semiconductor and related industries. Karnataka is also preparing a new Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) policy to bolster its presence in the electronics sector.
